COMMENTS

Nothing new on this release: Side A is reported on the insert as being from a live show broadcast by WBOX radio in September 1965, whereas it was copied from LAST LIVE SHOW, with the addition of track 3, a BBC release altered with a dubbed "live'' audience scream. It cannot be excluded, anyway, that CBM was not aware of the fake indications, since he used to get tapes through some trading, and may just have released the record based on indications of the tape.

RELEASES

February 1975 (photo below the title). The first pressing had an insert in rainbow colors, red to blue, with track listing and the King Kong logo, on a jellow jacket that had the "Classics of Modern Jazz"drawing by J. Fish printed on the back; the disc had orange Instant Analysis labels with side indications. Subsequent releases, all produced in 1975, had the insert on a white jacket, sometimes printed monochromatic red. Vinyl and pressing are good for all the releases.

INTEREST. One of the least interesting CBM records, with some appeal only for collectors. Uncommon. **

Side A of this record was coupled with Side A of SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE LONDON PALLADIUM in the compilation COMPLETE FOREST HILLS-LONDON - SUPER LIVE CONCERT SERIES 6. This record will have its own entry.

THE JAPANESE JL COUNTERFEIT

1975. The Japanese label JL Records released their counterfeit on matrix JL 523 A / JL 523 B, with the original insert directly printed on the jacket, in reduced color contrast, and JL 523 added on the bottom right; the disc had counterfeit orange Instant Analysis labels.

INTEREST. Useful for the Japanese collectors, and for completists. **
